Hello, my name is Noah Lesser, and I am a History Education major here at App State. This is my final semester here in Boone before returning home to student teach for a few months. My teaching philosophy is student-centered which allows students to become their own historians, and discover history through their own way. From this class, I would like to increase my knowledge of the digital tools available to me in my future career. For my multimedia element I have included an image of my oldest historical artifacts. The first is Russian Silver Wire Money, which was used from the 1360s-1710s. The second is a Great Britain George II 1/2 penny, which is dated at 1721 on the back.
While researching these coins I also found an interesting lesson activity that utilizes coins as historical artifacts. This lesson, found on The J. Paul Getty Museum, allows students to study coins and then create their own.
