Teachers have been giving up control in the classroom to great success. The traditional route of teaching is using the textbook or teacher-chosen resources which takes time to plan. Digital learning puts the responsibility of finding credible sources onto the students and provides a more in-depth connection to the material. this can be useful when discussing controversial issues in the classroom. The students must gather their own resources and come up with their own ideas that they have to defend. This is a more active form of learning compared to the traditional lecture style. There is more planning upfront for the teacher but less instructional time overall. This is because the students are teaching themselves. It can be intimidating to students at first but will help them develop skills in finding reliable resources and how comprehending historical data.
