Hi, my name is Paige Van Gorden and I am a History/Social Studies Education major (as are a lot of the people in this class). I grew up in Raleigh, NC and my two favorite parts of history are the Cold War or the French Revolution, but World War II is also something I am interested in. My favorite movie is Saving Private Ryan and my favorite genre of book is either romance or dystopian. However, seeing as that I read 40 romance novels (mostly written by Colleen Hoover) last summer, I believe it is fair to say that that genre takes the cake.
I am really excited for this class because I want to use a variety of new media in my classroom when I am a teacher. Therefore, I hope to learn what forms of new media inspire engagement but also do not distract students in order to get my students intrigued but not off topic.
